2019 Keynote Speaker
Fatima Edwards is a recent honor student and Summa Cum Laude
graduate from Delaware State University (DSU). She acquired her degree in Biology, with a concentration in health professions, and a minor in Chemistry. She was heavily involved on and off campus during her collegiate experience. Some of those activities included joining Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, starting her public speaking workshop series, committee member on multiple boards, student worker, and student research assistant all while balancing her academic and personal requirements. Fatima set three main goals for herself before starting college. The first goal was to graduate Summa Cum Laude. The second was to have a career offer before graduation and lastly, she wanted to leave a lasting impact at DSU. Fatima managed to accomplish all her goals. Her final GPA was 3.82 which qualified her for Summa Cum Laude status. She built lasting relationships with faculty, staff, and students that awarded her a variety of leadership roles and opportunities. She currently works as a Business Technology Analyst for Deloitte in Atlanta, GA where she received this offer before graduation.
Fatima is a native to Dover, Delaware and received her high school education from Polytech High School. At Polytech, Fatima graduated with a technical diploma as a certified dental assistant and trained her senior year to be an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
Through her life experiences, she has learned that confidence yields
leadership, perseverance yields resilience and reputation yields opportunity. Through all these things, she credits her success to her faith, her foundation, her family, and her desire to flourish.
