2015 Scholarship Recipient
Ashley Jean-Baptiste is the daughter of Amos and Suzette Jean-Baptiste, both of Haitian descent. Ashley was born and raised in Sussex County, Delaware. She graduated from Sussex Central High School in Georgetown, DE, and now attends Delaware State University, where she is majoring in Pre-Nursing. In high school, she was a member of National Honor Society, Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA), and Talent Search. She obtained her Medical Assistant Certificate through SCHS. Ashley challenged herself by taking honor and AP Courses. She loves GOD and faithfully attends the First Haitian Church of God in Blades, DE. There, she is the leader of the praise dance ministry and actively participates in the youth and young adult ministry. Ashley aspires to become a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, and her long term goal is to open a facility in Haiti and care for infants and children. Her passion is helping others and working with children, and feels it would be a honor to give back to her home country.
