Trishanna Punam Singh

2014 Scholarship Recipient


Trishanna, a graduate of Middletown High School, is the daughter of Balwant and Liloutie Singh of Guyana.

Trish, as she is fondly called, has demonstrated academic excellence in her studies by achieving a 4.0 GPA. She was Honor Roll student throughout high school, and also was inducted into the National Honor Society. As one of her teacher put it, “Trish is one of the most hard-working students I had the opportunity of teaching in my sixteen year career.” Although Trish had a busy school schedule, she still found time to volunteer and to participate in extracurricular activities.

She spent time with the residents at the Ronald McDonald House; provided moral support for the Wounded Warriors at the National Naval Medical Center of Bethesda; and collected school supplies for needy children in the US and in Guyana. Trish also participated in her High School Swimming Team, Student Coordinator Club, Student Council, and the State Science Olympiad Team. Trish wants to be a Radiologist. She is enrolled in the 2-year Pace Program at Delaware Technical Community College af-ter which, she will transition to Thomas Jefferson Medical School to further her studies. Trish is centered, focused, and determined to achieve her goal, which is the early diagnosis of illnesses in the shortest time possible thereby saving lives.
